Design And Implementation Of Agent Terminal For Heterogeneous Network Management Based On SNMP

With the rapid development of network technology,the network scale expands unceasingly and the network structure is becoming more and more complex.It is gradually increasing the demand for network management.Due to the complex network topology and the heterogeneity of communication protocol among the network nodes,the management of heterogeneous networks is a great challenge.Simple Network Management Protocol(SNMP)provides a good framework and implementation of network management.It is suitable for the management of heterogeneous network.In this thesis,we mainly research the design of heterogeneous network management agent terminal system based on SNMP protocol and propose a new model of network management.The wireless Mesh network and ZigBee wireless sensor network are modeled and the Management Information Base(MIB)is designed and extended according to the features of heterogeneous network.According to the features of wireless Mesh network,the AgentX agent framework of SNMP is used to manage the wireless Mesh network and the function of SNMP is divided into two parts,which is the main agent and subagent.The master agent is responsible for the interaction with the manager using the SNMP protocol.And subagent is the specific implementation of management functions,which completes the direct control of the managed object.However,ZigBee network is not a TCP/IP network,the hardware resources of the network nodes is limited,and has the features of multi node,large scale and dynamic topology.SNMP protocol is not suitable for direct deployment in ZigBee network.According to the features of ZigBee network,this thesis uses SNMP proxy agent framework to map management information of ZigBee network into MIB objects,which realizes the management of the node object that does not support the SNMP protocol through the protocol conversion between the manager and ZigBee network device.Finally,we build the wireless Mesh network and ZigBee network for test.Test results show that the performance of the agent terminal is stable which achieve the effective management of heterogeneous networks using SNMP.
