World will become more and more intelligent because of the development of Pervasive computing and network in the future.IoT(Internet of Things)will be one of ways to achieve this change.Laboratories are places for many universities to do teaching and research jobs.A universities' development will be influenced by the level of its laboratory management mostly.Thus,in order to improve the management efficiency of the laboratory,to explore why IoT can make laboratory management more intelligent.We design and implement the intelligent laboratory management system based on IoT.Intelligent laboratory management system is divided into student end and teacher end.In the student end,the functions of login,reading cards,signing in,signing off,applying for checking,submitting reports,and collecting the environment data(i.e.temperature data,humidity data,illumination data)are realized.And in the teacher end,it realizes the functions of registration,login,system configuration,students'information management,attendance information management,device information management,receiving reports,score management and displaying environment data.At the same time,the system uses the database and Excel to import students' information,export attendance sheets and machines repair records,to save and search the history information conveniently.Firstly,we describe the background of the Internet of things and laboratory management,as well as the research actuality of the implementation of the intelligent laboratory management system.Secondly,we introduce the application of the Internet of things technology:RFID technology and wireless sensor network technology.At the same time,the hardware platform of this project is simply introduced.Then the overall design of the system,including the database and the communication message format,is discussed in detail.So all kinds of function modules are designed and implemented afterwards.Finally,the system is deployed to the actual application scenarios to test the hardware and software environment together.This paper provides an efficient and innovative solution for the intelligent laboratory management.
