With the ever increasing of wireless demand, mobile operators constantly increase the air interface bandwidth and the number of base stations. This has brought many serious problems. A large number of base station deployment led to high energy consumption. Constantly investment in wireless equipment has increased a lot of capital expenditure and operation maintenance expenditure. 2G, 3G and 4G multi-standard operation cause the network complex. LTE uses the same frequency build network, adjacent cells using the same frequency, additionally, A large number of micro-cellular and picocell are deployed, these will lead to inter-cell interference increasingly serious. Tidal effect has a strong impact on the traditional wireless access network. In order to solve above problems, cloud wireless access network (C-RAN) was proposed. At the. same time the optical network join the wireless access network with its high bandwidth, low latency characteristics. Our work is based on the convergence of optical networks and wireless networks. We focus on improving the performance of wireless service by reconfiguration the optical network resources in a flexible optical fronthaul network. Some products have been achieved as follows:Firstly, Coordinated multipoint (CoMP) service is discussed and evaluated in a time and wavelength division multiplexing passive optical network (TWDM-PON) based fronthaul, which is a promising infrastructure for mobile fronthaul. We proposed two algorithms which are called BBU Weight based Wavelength Reconfiguration (BW-WR) and Minimum-Cut Graph based Wavelength Reconfiguration (MCG-WR).Simulation results show that wavelength reconfiguration can reduce the inter-BBU CoMP traffic and effectively improve the CoMP performance, especially for highmobility user.Secondly, for the control plane technology in cloud radio access network, an OpenFlow-based control plane for cloud radio access network is proposed. The extention of OpenFlow protocol aims to satisfy the radio access network. Experimental results demonstrate its feasibility of dynamic lightpath establishment and wavelength reconfiguration for improving CoMP performance. Wireshark captures of the signaling procedure are printed out. The feasibility of software defined networking based resource reconfiguration strategy in the cloud radio access network is verified.
