Under the promotion of the triple play,State Administration of Press,Publication,Radio,Film and Television of the People's Republic of china(SAPPRFT)proposed the concept of the Next Generation Broadcasting Network(NGB),that is to achieve triple play by utilizing the HFC TV network.Cable network with sufficient bandwidth also has advantages of high degree of coverage and low maintenance costs.Achieving tripe play by utilizing the HFC TV network is facing the task of achieving two-way transformation on fiber and coaxial cable network.PON + EOC,which is a mainstream scheme for HFC TV network revolution,refers that using the technology of EPON on the fiber network and the technology of EOC on the coaxial cable network to achieve the transmission of TV signals and Ethernet signals.SAPPRFT recommended C-HPAV,HINOC and C-DOCSIS as EOC standard of China,among which C-HPAV and C-DOCSIS refer to the foreign Home Plug AV protocol and DOCSIS protocol respectively.As one of the research directions of the experimental group,HINOC is a new bandwidth access scheme which is designed and developed independently by our own country.This thesis chooses C-HPAV and HINOC2.0 protocol which have similar topology to conduct research and systematic simulation by using the same simulation platform,shielding the underlying hardware implementation and software coding differences.On the basis of that,Comparing the performance of the two protocols with theoretical analysis and testing results to accumulates experience for the follow-up study of MAC layer protocols,and provides useful data and conclusion for the improvement of other EOC technology.First of all,a depth study of mechanism of C-HPAV and HINOC2.0 MAC layer protocol is made in this thesis,which mainly includes network topology,protocol stack,channel access mechanism,data encapsulation and data transmission.Secondly,the simulation system of the C-HPAV and HINOC2.0 MAC layer protocol are designed and completed respectively based on the mastery of the basic model and interface module of the MAC layer simulation platform,the simulation system mainly consists of the TDMA,CSMA multiple access mode of C-HPAV system,the TDMA,OFDMA multiple access and retransmission mechanism of HINOC2.0 system,as well as the data encapsulation and transport procedure of the two systems.Ultimately,the test work of the two systems is completed to verify the correctness of the design of the systems and to test the performance of the two protocols.The test work is carried out under a variety of test scene which is designed according to different multiple access methods,modulation formats,EMAC frame length and different priorities of data.The performance of the two protocols are measured by the MAC layer protocol performance indexes such as throughput,delay,delay jitter and bandwidth utilization,and comparisons are made upon the combination of testing results and MAC layer mechanism of the two protocols.
