The monitor receiver is a professional measurement instrument which is capable of receiving broadcast signal. It can process frequency-domain and time-domain characteristics of the signal. The monitor receiver has a very wide range of applications in broadcast monitor industry.for example, it can be used to monitor of the broadcast transmitter and the disturbance signal, the measurement of the characteristic analysis and so on. Virtual instrument is an equipment with visual interfaces on computer related software and hardware.It completes instrument control, display and information analysis, and other functions on the designed virtual instrument panel with the help of a software developed platform.Manual test takes a long time presence,large human consumption. The ability of operator may affect the measurement results. The paper mainly discusses on this problem. An automatic test system for monitor receiver is developed based on virtual instrument technology. This system can automatically measure the characteristic of monitor receiver, and it can process data,generate report.The work efficiency is improved greatly. The main contents of this paper are as follows:1. This paper researches the development of automatic test systems,structural principles and key technologies.2. According to the requirements of testing technology,this paper analyses of the system composition and working principle, Determining the hardware components and system structure of the monitoring receiver automatic test system.3. The functional models for different modules of the virtual instrument system of software are built up, the methods the procedure of monitoring receiver automatic test system software are programmed. The test data is analyzed through the error theory and the theory of measurement uncertainty.4. It improve the measurement uncertainty evaluation processing, based on the actual work. The measuring results of the monitoring receiver parameters are analyzed.
