Optical interconnection plays an increasingly important role in future integrated optics with the development of high integration.Entering in the innovation era,cloud computing and big data make great demand of devices with high speed and large capacity.Silicon photonics integrated circuits,which have the advantages of low-power consumption,wide bandwidth,low cost and good compatible with CMOS,become a main research direction.Under the update technology of silicon photonics and on-chip optical interconnection,it is a great significant for the all-optical communication and device interconnection to manufacture a hybrid source with active chip and passive waveguide.In this thesis,we make experiments on hybrid laser with semiconductor optical amplifier by ?-? material and silicon resonator based on SOI waveguide.We build two testing systems to obtain the reflectivity,bandwidth and output power from different reflectors.Also a low-coherence testing system is set up to detect the mode inside the coupled-ring.The main works are listed as follows:1.The principle of generating laser and the distribution of mode in cavity are introduced.We analyze the filtering characteristics of micro-ring resonator and set a theoretical model to provide a guidance of how to design the micro-ring resonator in subsequent experiment.2.In this text,we analyze and test much of the data from different resonators,obtaining a high reflectivity and low insertion loss reflector.And an output laser with 6.1mW power and 30dB extinction ratio is obtained.3.The distribution of mode inside the coupled-ring is detected,realizing a tunable mode output for hybrid laser.The characteristics of wavelength division and mode distribution are analyzed through the low coherence system.4.The integration experiment between SOA and silicon reflector is designed to make a hybrid active chip by the technology of metal bonding.By the beam alignment between active chip and passive waveguide,we also get the filtering lines of four devices.And we put forward some new plans to improve the subsequent experiments.
