Reverse engineering is the key part to obtain dimensions of complex parts for the processing of three-dimensional point cloud data of mal-leable cast parts.The key point is how to get the noiseless and smooth 3D point cloud from the scattered and multi-noise point cloud data.According to characteristics of noise points in the scattered cloud,this paper presents two methods: step-by-step denoising and smoothing method.First,the first kind of noise is removed by using grid threshold method.Second,the second kind of noise is removed by using virtual grid method.Finally,the above data is smoothed by using bilateral filtering method.The results show that the method not only re-moves the noisy points of 3D point cloud data,but also obtains a smooth measurement of surface and retains the characteristics of sharp features.3D laser scanning technology which has high resolution,high accuracy and high efficiency,but there are many factors influencing the accuracy of scanning in practice.For the mistake in reverse process by 3D laser scanning technology,analysis the measuring instruments error themselves and late date treatment factors that affect the precision.By using the TOUCH company handyscan 3 D laser scanner experimental equipment,which make the contrast in iteration times,smoothness,point cloud splicing,the strength of the mesh smoothing degree and relaxation based on Geomagic Studio,and get the factors of influence acquisition error prioritize.Finally raise the measures improvement and attention about how to improve the 3D laser scanning acquisition.The smoothness,degree of smoothing and relaxation strength there is a bigger influence in the experiment post-processing precision.For large complex malleable cast a relaxation resistance range in 2-4 advisable,special circumstances can consider 5-8 magnitude.Relaxation curvature effect is less than the relaxation strength in standard deviation.And the standard deviation and relaxation is inversely proportional to the curvature,is proportional to the intensity of relaxation.For large complex malleable cast a relaxation range curvature in 5-8 advisable,special circumstances can consider grade 1 to grade 4 curvature.
