Image is an important way to convey and express information,which is widely used in all kinds of fields in society.With the rapid development of Internet and digital image processing software,the function of image processing and editing software has become increasingly diverse and perfect,people can often tamper and forge the image without leaving any traces.In the fields of politics,economy,culture,military affairs,justice,scientific research and so on,image information security is facing great challenge,causing incalculable loss to people's life and bringing great negative influence to the society.In the field of military the enemy often confuse us by tampering image,cause that our military strategic misjudge the number of military equipment,location and advanced level,leading to serious consequences.In recent years,with the rapid development of information technologies,information warfare has become a force in the struggle of frontier bridgehead,so image tampering detection is vividly the key to win the information-based war.During the digital image tampering there often exists double compression process and using the statistical features to confirm tampering area makes it easier.This piece of paper firstly analyzes some statistical properties of DCT coefficient histogram of the recompressed picture and then put forward the factor histogram concept.We can estimate quality factor by using factor histogram,and recompress the image again by using the same quality factor to get JPEG "ghost" which is the image tampering area.These histograms of discrete cosine transform coefficients and factors are preprocessed to improve the speed and accuracy of the proposed algorithm are the innovations of the paper.After that,the paper carried on the programming implementation ofthe proposed algorithm,and completed a military image tamper detection system based on JPEG factor histogram.The experimental data show that the output of the system is consistent with the expected results.Finally,the research works are summarized in detail which also pointed out the improving direction for the future.
