A Comparative Study Of Two Chinese Bible Versions—The CUV And The CNV

The Bible consists of the Old Testament and the New Testament.The part of the Old Testament has a long history,At first,there were no written words,only language,Bible stories spread through language,Later they were recorded in written words and gradually accumulated into the Old Testament which records the history of mankind in ancient times and the human history of ethnic groups in the Middle East,especially the Jewish people.The New Testament dates back to the first Century A.D,recording Jesus 's life and the development of the early church.The Bible is a religious classics,the foundation and source of western culture,and the important basis for the study of Jewish national history and religious history.Foreign countries have based on specialized research on the Bible to establish the biblical archaeology and textual criticism science,biblical archaeology according to the Bible describes areas of ancient relics and unearthed cultural relics of the Bible to reveal historical appearance.Because the Bible text changed constantly in the process of copying,leading to the discrepancy between different copies,textual criticism science is needed to collate literature,analysis of variants,restore the text.There is no independent study of the subject of the Bible in China,and the study of the Bible in the academic community is subordinate to a broad range of Christian Studies or other humanities,There are many deficiencies in the study of Bible version.The Bible has been translated and circulated in China for more than one thousand years,various Chinese versions of the Bible has been emerging in an endless stream.And the Chinese Union Version(CUV)is the largest circulation and the longest version,the Chinese New Version(CNV)is a representative version of the new times background.Making a comparative study of the two versions from the perspective of bibliography,first examining the general situation of their own background,translation principles,basic text and so on,to make a comprehensive understanding of the origin of the Bible version and analysis of factors leading to textual differences between two versions,developing an in-depth study of the basic text which is the most important factor.Next,according to the Hebrew and Greek Bible text,Specifically comparing with two bible versions to find the difference and characteristic of them.Finally found the basic text,translation strategy and language change are important factors in the differences between the CUV and the CNV.The generation of CUV is earlier and it's language is elegant,it is only because of the shortcomings of the basic text that lead to the omission or add or mistake of the text.The CNV is more modern and the text is closer to the original text.The literary value of the CUV is higher,and it is the authoritative version,The CNV is easy to understand and more accurate,readers can choose between the two versions according to their own needs.In the course of the study mainly used the literature research method,comparative research method and synecdoche method.There is innovation in the research angle,enriched the study of the Chinese Bible versions.
