Distributed MIMO radar,as a new radar system,has significant advantages in such aspects as parameter estimation and hidden target detection.The application of the distributed MIMO radar to airborne platform is an important development direction of the airborne radar in the future,which can use the airborne radars on the battlefield to realize collaborative detection,and improve the performance of the system.This paper is based on the signal processing technology for airborne distributed MIMO radar.The main contents include the following:1,Introduced the basic principles and characteristics of distributed MIMO radar,the basic signal transmitting and receiving model is also given briefly.The correlation between the target echoes of different diversity channels is studied by using correlation coefficients in this paper,and the correlation coefficients is a function of frequency,space interval and target size.2,Outlined two target detection approaches for airborne distributed MIMO radar.Derived the incoherent likelihood ratio detector for different target model and analyzed the detector performance by simulation.The detection performance is also considered in the scenarios such as signal-to-noise ratio imbalance and target echo scattering coefficient partly related.The double threshold constraint distributed likelihood ratio detector is analyzed to cover the problem of higher data rate requirements in centralized detector.Simulated the double threshold detector,and compared the performance of different first threshold.Finally,we discussed the coherent detector for the case of coherent target echo.3,Researched the parameter estimation problem on airborne distributed MIMO radar.The Maximum-Likelihood(ML)estimation for target position and velocity is derived,and the Cramer-Rao Bound(CRB)for ML is used to analyze the impact of bandwidth and pulse accumulation on parameter estimation.Applied the time delay localization algorithm to target localization problem on airborne distributed MIMO radar and analyzed the performance of time delay localization algorithm on account of Geometric Dilution of Precision(GDOP).4,Discussed two basic ways of airborne distributed MIMO radar coherent processing,including receiving coherent processing and transmitting and receive full coherent processing.Analyzed the coherent transmitting performance for full coherent processing,the influence of frequency,space interval on coherent transmitting performance has been discussed.Finally,the impact of phase synchronization error on coherent processing is analyzed theoretically.
