With the rapid development of science and technology,such as missiles,aircraft and other targets have increasingly high mobility,so both in military defense or civil aviation safety,real-time detection of maneuvering targets and accurate parameter estimation is becoming increasingly important.In recent years,the new radar system--MIMO(Multiple-Input Multiple-Output)radar acquires high attention since proposed,due to its prominent advantages compared to the traditional array radar.MIMO radar using waveform diversity and spatial diversity technology,in the target detection,parameter estimation and other research area to obtain good application.Because the airborne MIMO radar emits mutually orthogonal waveforms,the degree of freedom of the system greatly increased.Therefore,it is superior to the traditional airborne radar in clutter suppression,which provides a better application for parameter estimation of moving target The main contents of this paper are to perform the estimation of motion parameters of the maneuvering target on airborne MIMO radar system.The structure of the article is as follows:Firstly,this paper introduces the principles of MIMO radar and its unique signal processing flow for the coherent MIMO radar.At the same time,the target echo model and the clutter data model of the airborne MIMO radar are constructed,and the basic knowledge of the space-time adaptive processing of the MIMO radar is described.Secondly,a method of estimating the parameters of maneuvering target based on the maximum likelihood estimation is proposed.Based on the established radar echo model,the probability density function of the received data is deduced and simplified according to the distribution characteristics of the components contained in the echo.The cost function of the parameters to be estimated(direction,initial velocity and acceleration)is obtained.The target direction is estimated first,then the initial velocity and the acceleration of the maneuvering target are estimated.The method considers the orthogonal waveform,and uses the single pulse echo data to complete the parameter estimation,and the estimation performance is excellent,but still needs a large amount of computation.Finally,a parameter estimation algorithm of maneuvering target based on CPT(Cubic Phase Transform)is proposed.The target echo is obtained by steering vector modeling,regardless of the waveform.The method firstly obtains the expression which contains only acceleration by cubic phase transform,and then estimates the target acceleration,and then uses the fast Fourier transform and search to obtain the initial velocity estimation value.This method not only can obtain high parameter estimation accuracy,but also has low algorithm complexity.
