Arbitrary waveform generator which is a basic test and measurement instrument,is widely used in modern measurement field.Nowadays,the system needed to be tested has become more complicated,which put forward higher require on arbitrary waveform generator specification.Arbitrary waveform generator needs powerful drawing processing and data processing ability to guarantee user experience.In order to expand the using extent of arbitrary waveform generator,it is essential to have a powerful trigger module.This paper designed and implemented the 4GSPS arbitrary waveform generator control and trigger module.According to the requirements of the instrument,the fast transmission of large data,the trigger method and the pulse width trigger technology are studied.The main research works are as follows:1,design of Control Module for 4GSPS Arbitrary Waveform Generator.Arbitrary waveform generator control module adopts the embedded computer,which has solved the rapid generation of waveform data and graphical interface problems;in order to meet the need of fast transmission of great data quantity,which for each channel 64 MB waveform data,control module interface is based on PCI bus.the communication between the control module and the waveform synthesis module is based on Local parallel bus,in order to reduce the serial to parallel conversion.2,the overall design of the trigger module.We adopt FPGA chip to realize the main trigger function in the design.Using high-speed comparator and DAC to complete the external input trigger signal voltage comparison.In order to solve the problem of coupling between the trigger module and the waveform synthesizing module,the coupling between the trigger module and the waveform synthesizing module was simplified,and the two operations are completed by the waveform synthesis start and the waveform synthesis.3,trigger module hardware and logic design.Multiplexing technology was used to achieve a DAC output multiple reference voltage.For internal triggering,pulse width triggering and triggering of the need for high-precision time resolution,the use of fourway split technology to achieve the use of lower clock to complete high-resolution clock counter.After testing and verification,the control and trigger module designed in this paper can quickly and accurately provide the data needed for the remaining modules to work.Trigger module can achieve level trigger,edge trigger,pulse width trigger and trigger release and other trigger function,arbitrary waveform generator control and trigger module to meet the project requirements.
