Design of circuits and systems at W band is a hot issue as its central frequency 94GHz(the corresponding wavelength is 3 millimeter)located in the atmospheric window has small attenuation and is easy to transfer.In this thesis,the theory and design of 3mm integrated transceiver module are studied.Based on the HMIC(hybrid microwave integrated circuit)technology,the circuit design of the module is realized,and the fabricating and testing are completed.In the first chapter,a brief introduction about the characteristics and application of the millimeter-wave,then the domestic and abroad development of W band transceiver in recent years are presented and compared to pave the way for the research content and significance of this work.The second chapter elaborates the theory of the transmitter and receiver,and explains the physical meanings of the major parameters of the receiver.Through the comparison of different transceiver scheme,we have obtained the 3mm principle of preliminary design of receiving channel module and transmitting channel module.The third chapter make theoretical analysis and test verification for the key passive circuit modules,which include waveguide to microstrip transition?high selectivity bandpass filter?planar power divider.For waveguide to microstrip transition circuit,microstrip probe transition structure and fin line transition structure are introduced and the corresponding solutions to the problems in the design process are put forward.Then the thesis have introduced the theoretical design and synthesis process of E-palne metal sheet loaded band-pass filter.In this section on power dividers,Wilkinson power divider and the 180 degree hybrid ring coplanar structure power divider are analyzed and compared,the former power divider shows poor performance due to not able to integrating isolation resistance with the thin film circuit process,while the 180 degree hybrid ring power divider shows better performance and can be used in the transceiver module.The fourth chapter from three aspects(stability?gain?design process of different types of amplifier)to do a more detailed exposition about amplifier theory firstly,and then choose amplifiers and mixers used in the transceiver module after comparing the capability of several kinds of chips,especially from the input power,bias conditions and other aspects of the low noisehh amplifier,power amplifier and drive power amplifier.In the fifth chapter,the processing and testing of the transmitting channel module and the receiving channel module are completed,and the test results were analyzed.By solving the problems of the transmitting channel module,the design scheme of 3mm integrated T/R Module is obtained.Finally,the components of the cavity and the microstrip circuit substrate were designed,processed and assembled.Most of the indicators have been tested to meet the requirements of the project.For the indicators have not be tested,this thesis made a corresponding explanation.In the last chapter,it summarizes the work done in this thesis.Then the evaluation and suggestion on the improvement of the project are also presented.
