With the advantages of intensivism,high efficiency,energy conservation and environment protection,public transportation is one of the important trip modes that city dwellers can choose.Developing intelligent public transportation can help reduce traffic pressure,energy consumption as well as environmental pollution.At the same time,it is necessary to improve the service level of public transportation system for maintaining the operation.Aim at the requirement of constructing the intelligent public transportation system in Taiyuan city,base on the map services and the cloud services for spatial-temporal information of public transportation offering by Map World and'Smart Taiyuan' Spatial-temporal Information Cloud Platform respectively,the article try to design an iOS application named Intelligent Bus Information Service System(IBIS),so as to provide users integrative and intelligent solutions for travelling by bus.The design and implementation of the Intelligent Bus Information Service System is the main work of the article,which specifically includes:Firstly,investigating the development status of intelligent public transportation,especially focusing on analyzing the research situation of real-time public transportation From the investigation,there came to conclusions that,1)bus information service,bus dispatching,bus surveillance and decision making support system for intelligent public transportation are the four key parts of the public transportation informatization construction;2)technologies such as electronic bus-stop board,automatic vehicle locating,automatic bus-stop announcer,automatic passenger counting as well as IC card charging,are the most often used technologies applied to intelligent public transportation.Secondly,analyzing and overall designing of the Intelligent Bus Information Service System.According to the previously finished system analysis,the article try to take action on the overall design of the system which including the architecture design and the function design.The architecture of the system is based on Client/Server framework.The server end support the cloud services for spatial-temporal bus information while the client end is based on the Model-View-Controller(MVC)design mode providing users not only the functions of querying bus information such as static information,real-time information,nearby bus station as well as the scheme of transfer but also value-added services like querying point of interest(POI),weather and traffic management notice.Thirdly,illustrating the detailed design and the functional technical route of the Intelligent Bus Information Service System.The system is devided into five modules;namely,the query module,the nearby module,the transfer module,the service module and the setting module.Last but not least,designing and developing algorithms for bus arrival time prediction based on vehicle positioning data.Bus arrival time prediction is the key support for querying the real-time bus information The proposed algorithm predict the bus arrival time via retrieving the bus nearest to the querying statio.In order to enhance retrieval efficiency,the algorithm set two conditions(the driving direction and position)to filter out the unmatched vehicle before the retrieval.
