Pyrotechnically pumped laser belongs to one of non-electric light source pumped solid-state lasers, because it dose not need gigantic power supply in the pumping process, and with small size.So it is very suitable for preparation of integrated laser, and has a broad application prospect in outer space and other military field. The Zr/KP pyrotechnic system is one of classical chemical pump light source material formulations for solid state laser, but,it is difficult to mix uniformly between two components, and the limited contact area between particles restrict the transformation efficiency of chemical energy to radiation energy and burning rate, which further restricts the laser output performance improvement. In this paper, the preparation of Zr-CNTs-KP core-shell structure composite particle is studied to improve the optical radiation and laser pump performance, and move forward a single step assess the possibility to replacement traditional Zr/KP pyrotechnic system by Zr-CNTs-KP composite particle. The main results are as follows: On the one hand, trace addition of CNTs has obvious effect on the pyrotechnic light radiation performance and the Zr without ball milling and carboxylic carbon nanotubes is more suitable for the preparation of composite materials. On the other hand,it is more beneficial to fabricate the composite materials when the dispersion of PVA and SDBS is low. What's more, the reaction heat increases and the reaction activity is improved after assembling the KP and Zr by CNTs,which has better optical radiation performance. In addition,Zr-CNTs-KP composite particle's laser output energy increases by 28.7 % compared with the traditional system of Zr/KP.We can draw the conclusion that It is feasible to replace pump source of the classical formula of Zr/KP with Zr-CNTs-KP composite particles.
