With the advent of the era of mobile Internet and big data, more stringent requirements are put forward to the data transmission rate, system capacity, delay and power consumption of the system for next generation communication network(5G).Facing the challenge of thousands times of the data capacity growth, hundreds times of the speed increasing and hundreds times of the user access,5G is not only a simple technical updates, but also is a very big development or a technical revolution, this also means that the communication network architecture must be upgraded.Massive MIMO technology has significantly improved system's user capacity, spectrum efficiency, data transfer rate and robustness etc. So,MASSIVE is recognized as one of the most promising technology and a strong candidate for future-generation wireless systems(5G)by the industry.Prototyping for 5G communication network is not only a critical step in the process of development, but also is the necessary links from concept to realization. The Massive MIMO prototype verification platform based on Software Defined Radio(SDR)is an important means to implement the applications of 5G.In this paper,a TDD(Time Division Duplex)64 antenna Massive MIMO prototype verification platform based on NI(National Instruments)universal software radio peripheral is proposed, and the research of MIMO-OFDM channel estimation based on USRP-RIO(Universal Software Radio Peripheral-Compact Reconfigurable Input/Output)is completed. The main work is as follows:The Massive MIMO prototype verification platform was designed and developed, and the channel estimation module and the UE transceiver system were developed.Include that, the channel estimation(LMMSE,LS)program at the receiver of Massive MIMO base station based on LabVIEW FPGA is compiled, and the performance of two channel estimation algorithms on Massive MIMO platform is given the contrast analysis.Based on LTE10.1 protocol,Massive MIMO UE terminal transceiver system has been setup, the UE terminal system architecture has been designed by software, including the host terminal RF receiving module, send data processing module, receive data processing module, and the control Information of the system has designed, just as pilot structure, frame structure, modulation, etc. Finally, the functional test and the channel estimation algorithm of the Massive MIMO prototype verification platform are verified by the joint base station and the UE side.Mean while, the correctness and feasibility of the platform are also verified by the test.A 2×2 MIMO-OFDM communication system based on NI USRP-RIO software radio platform is designed and implementation, and the channel estimation is studied on the platform. The design is mainly focused on the receiving module and the sending module of the system at the host by the LabVIEW program development environment, including channel coding and decoding, digital modulation and demodulation,Alamouti coding and decoding,OFDM modulation and demodulation, symbol synchronization, channel estimation and so on.Then, the simulation system of the system is built, and the channel estimation algorithm(LS,DFT-LS)under the simulation system and the actual platform is tested and compared. The results show that the time domain LS channel estimation based on DFT is better than the frequency domain LS channel estimation in the Rice fading channel environment based on the logarithmic distance path loss model. This result agrees well with the theoretical analysis, also confirmed the system is build correctness.
