The popularity of smart phones lead to the rapidly popular of WeChat(a kind of social media tool APP that can only be installed on smart phone).According to a latest report,the number of monthly active users of Wechat has reached more than 650 million.Recently,many academic journals and academic information service providers are aware of the potential of WeChat as academic information dissemination channel and scientific communication platform.Some of they have already opened their own WeChat public number.And one of the main methods for a public number to get new fans and to create value by encouraging followers is pushing articles through their public number and motivating their fans to share those articles with others.Therefore,it is necessary for academic information providers to explore the user's academic information sharing intention on Wechat.Based on the decomposed theory of planned behavior,this paper constructs the theoretical model of the factors that influence the intention of Wechat academic information sharing,and puts forward the hypothesis according to the related research results.The model was validated by 213 sample data that collected by online questionnaire survey.The research results show that the most popular two kinds of academic information are methods,tools,technical information and institutional information.The public number and the circle of friends on Wechat are the main sources of academic information.The circle of friends is the most important channel for sharing academic information.In terms of academic information sharing intention,perception compatibility and pleasure of helping others had positive affection on information sharing attitude,Self-efficacy had significant positive effects on perceived behavior control,self-efficacy and perceived behavior control had significant positive effects on shared intention.
