Visualizing Nsfc Dataset Using Dynamic Voronoi Diagram

The data of National Natural Science Foundation of China(NSFC)is a hierarchical data set.As NSFC only invests the areas that are sophisticated,potential and imperative for this country.Large data sets with the number of rows up to tens of millions are created but the improvement and changing is always invisible with the traditional statistical chart.In this paper,we use Voronoi Diagram visualization technique that uses the natural process of cell growth and dying visual metaphor to simulate the dynamic changes of the National Science Foundation data.This visual process enables non-professional audience can sense the changes in the distribution of the National Natural Science Foundation.As the data is never created abruptly and disappeared suddenly just like cells' birth and death,the improvement and changing are presented clearly and vividly with this visualization.We have applied our approach in three applications of different areas.
