With the increasing development of geographic information technology, a more in-depth research and application of GIS has been conducted in the field of mobile communications. As a large number of communication facilities have been put into operation and all kinds of mobile communication services have been continuously expanded, users in the field have an urgent demand for the construction of a visualized data analysis system of a mobile base station based on GIS technology so as to acquire, process, analyze and present network data more conveniently, visually and comprehensively.Under the above-mentioned background, application of GIS technology to data analysis of mobile base stations is mainly studied in this thesis. First, the realization of network coverage of a base station, the effective storage and processing of spatial information data and the visualization and presentation of geographic data by using Google Earth and Google Map platforms were discussed through studying Voronoi diagram algorithm, spatial database, KML language and other GIS technologies. Second, acquisition and processing of multi-source and various-type data were studied. Finally, a visualized analysis system which could meet specific needs of users was established by a tentatively integrated application of above methods and technologies and a utilization of appropriate technical frameworks and development programs. Major contents are as follows.The process in which coverage of base station is realized based on Voronoi algorithm was studied in this thesis. First, the point-set coverage diagram of a base station was realized by using improved border-based triangulation algorithm and based on the general scattered triangulation algorithm of Voronoi diagram. Then, compression and storage of mass data of Voronoi diagram were realized by using gridding algorithm and border algorithm of vectorization of Voronoi region.The process in which spatial database is used to store and process spatial information data was studied in this thesis. Spatial database was designed and realized in the system to manage geographic information data involved in the system, process complex spatial data by using spatial database and present the data to GE clients.The process in which geographic information data is presented at Google Earth clients was studied in this thesis. First, KML engine was developed based on KML language syntax and rules defined by all kinds of labels. Then, the process in which data in the database were generated into KMZ files or KML data flows and were finally present in Google Earth was realized.Different system technical architectures and development programs were studied and an appropriate system solution was determined in this thesis. First, mainstream technologies of technical framework of development mode in the communications industry as well as relevant development programs under mainstream technical frameworks were analyzed and compared. Finally, a practical system development solution was determined.Acquisition and processing of local data were studied in this thesis. First, the source of local data was observed and analyzed. Then different acquisition methods were determined for multi-source and different-format data. Thereupon, integration, processing and storage of various data were realized in combination of actual conditions of the business.Front-end functions of the system were developed according to demands. Based on this, data visualization methods represented by GIS map were provided and visualization analysis of data about the base station coverage, the switchover, the alarming, abnormal occurrences and bad-quality sections was realized.The “visualization system of wireless base stations” proposed in this thesis realized acquisition, analyzing and integration of local multi-source and different-format data of wireless base stations. Moreover, it realized processing and generation of geographic data used for visualized front-end presentation. In its daily application, the system provided users with more abundant perspectives to observe and analyze data of wireless base stations, improved the application value of data of wireless base stations and provided effective data analysis methods for supporting the planning analysis, the performance evaluation, the optimization and testing as well as the emergency response and risk-elimination of wireless base stations.
