Empirical Study On The Impact Of Information Technology Investment On The Logistics Industry Performance

The logistics industry of our country as a producer service needs to upgrade in the new economic normal. "Internet+Logistics" has an important impact on the development of the logistics industry. It promotes the integration of the logistics industry and other industries, while the logistics industry business model and service mode will change. Enterprises has invested a lot in information technology in the last twenty or thirty years. Information technology has been widely used in all aspects of logistics activities. Therefore, it is significant to study the influence of information technology investment on the performance of logistics industry.Firstly, this paper carries out economic analysis by using principal agent theory and information search theory. Review the relationship of information technology investment and both enterprise performance and logistics industry performance, besides the mechanism of the information technology investment. Then describe the current situation of the development of logistics industry in China. Analyze the status of logistics information technology applications, existing problems and deep analysis of the causes. The empirical research on the impact of information technology investment on the performance of Listed Companies in logistics industry is conducted by using SPSS 19.0 software. The empirical results show that information technology investment has both no significant impacts on the profitability and growth ability of logistics enterprises.Hardware and software investment has a significant impact on the operational capacity and solvency. Information personnel investment has a significant impact on the operational capacity.Finally, it puts forward some suggestions on how to improve the efficiency of the application of information technology in the logistics industry according to the results of theoretical research and empirical study. It includes:formulating policies for the development of modern logistics, perfect logistics information standardization system, promoting the construction of public logistics information platform, strengthen the ability of information technology application and focus on the cultivation of information technology talents.
