Interpersonal communication is deepening with the rapid development of multiple medias in the age of information,during which people tend to participate in constructing the media image actively instead of accepting it passively.It is one huge challenge to the medias.Being established in Shandong Province of China,THE SHANDONG PRESS(Hereinafter referred to as The Press)is an international media,its distinctive features involves reports about overseas Chinese and foreign affairs.Audience's cognition towards the Shandong Overseas Chinese was being affected directly by their media images construction from the The Press.Forming a diversified and contemporary media image has been playing a crucial part in improving communication,bridging gap,and promoting external exchanges in Shandong.Therefore,the study of Shandong Overseas Chinese media image is indispensable.In this premise,I selected 356 reports covering this issue in The Press from 2007 to 2016.Using these articles as study sample,with the use of content analysis and framework analysis and etc.,I discussed how The Press constructed the image of the Shandong Overseas Chinese.First of all,I categorized the basic elements of the media images which press usually constructs,and I presented the basic characteristics of the Shandong Overseas Chinese media image by analyzing the language it used.Secondly,I discussed the construction method by analyzing these different types,themes,attitudes and perspectives of these reports,and then I presented the connotation of the media images,Thirdly,I explored the external The Press' communication strategy and external spread effect by constructing media image of the Shandong Overseas Chinese.
