With the development of the microwave technology,microwave radar has been more and more widely used in military and civil field.The radar obtain the information of the target such as speed and distance by emitting electromagnetic wave and then analyzing the reflected signal.As the core element of the radar system,the front-end consists of transmitter and receiver,the transmitter modulate the baseband signal to radio frequency and amplify the power,intended to be transmitted from antenna;meanwhile the receiver achieve the signal from the antenna and then amplifying,filtering and demodulating.Miniaturization,high integration and reliability have been the most important development trend of microwave technology.The maturation of the microwave planar circuit greatly promote the process of microwave circuit miniaturization.HMIC(hybrid microwave integrated circuit),MCM(Multi-Chip Module)and MMIC(monolithic microwave integrated circuit)technologies are effective ways to reduce the volume and weight of the system and improve the performance.HMIC finish circuit function by using discrete components combined with transmission lines,which can be manufactured with simple technology and low cost.in addition,the HMIC is convenient for debugging,as a consequence,HMIC is still the mainstream technology in many occasions.This paper is making a research and design on the key technology of K-band radar front-end,basing on the application background of the automotive anti-collision radar with FMCW radar system and HMIC technology.The main contents include: active parts: X-band FET oscillation,K-band frequency doubler,K-band single balanced mixer;passive parts: vertical interconnect structure,K-band antenna array and coupler.At last,we develop the traditional two-dimensional planar circuit to the three-dimensional circuit through the effective multilayer vertical interconnection structure,realizing the integration of all the unit circuit modules.
