With the continuous development of network communication services,especially the real-time services,users are demanding on increasingly higher quality and reliability of network data transmission.For this reason,people have made unremitting efforts to improve the physical properties of the network,including upgrading the network equipment,increasing network bandwidth and other direct investment methods to expand the network.Obviously,these methods need to pay a high price.This thesis developed another method called multi-path communication method,which could improve the user experience without increasing the network capacity,thus improve the network performance price ratio.Multipath transmission can significantly improve the quality and robustness of data transmission.However,the IP network can't support the multi-path transmission,which seriously limits the implementation of this method.So,this thesis used a new network technology Vector Network(VN).It is a new architecture of data communication based on Vector Address.It is not only suitable for multipath transmission,but also hardly increases the cost of multipath transmission.VN determines the data forwarding path according to the Vector Address,and realizes the connection effect at the cost of no connection.The multipath feature of VN determines that it can support multi-path communication better than other networks.In this thesis,based on the analysis of the existing multipath communication methods,a multi-path communication method of VN switching network is designed.The main work and achievements are as follows:(1)The basic methods of multipath communication were designed,including transmission path fault detection method and packet loss retransmission mechanism.The end to end transmission path fault detection method can largely reduce the overhead of traditional path detection methods,and it can effectively reduce the packet loss rate by quantitative cache data packets in the end system to realize the fast retransmission when the path switches.(2)Two kinds of multi-path transmission strategies---the main path transmission and multi path in turn transmission were designed to meet the different needs of transmission.Based on the analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of different transmission strategies,the corresponding multi-path transmission scheme was designed according to the transmission characteristics of real-time streaming media and Domain Name Service.(3)The network simulation experiments were carried out for these two kinds of multi-path transmission strategies.It has been verified that the proposed fault detection algorithm and the packet loss retransmission mechanism are reasonable and feasible,which can significantly enhance the quality and robustness of network transmission.
