As an important feature of this era,the daily popularization of Internet is widely affecting people's daily social life.The extensive use of the Internet is also accompanied with network security incidents.As an important basis for the security of Internet communication,SSL protocol has played an important role in the past twenty years.As we know,the SSL protocol with certificate-based public key cryptosystem has a problem about certificate management.The certificate-less public key cryptosystem is very convenient,which is especially important to the security of mobile ad hoc network and communications in vehicular networking.In this paper,we study the implementation and application of the SSL protocol with certificate-less public key cryptography.First,we give details on the concept of identity-based cryptosystem and certificate-based public key cryptosystem based on bilinear pairings.Then we implement the certificate-less public key cryptography with the pairing-based cryptography library and do some performance tests and analysis about this cryptography.The main task of the expansion of the SSL protocol with certificate-based public key cryptosystem is to modify the SSL handshake,making the extended SSL protocol support CL-PKC.We give details about how to implement the CL-PKC-SSLprotocol with OpenSSL which is open source and widely used.Then we make a test about this protocol to make sure the CL-PKC-SSL protocol works.The result shows that the SSL protocol with certificate-based public key cryptosystem does work.In order to verify that the CL-PKC-SSL protocol is useful and also to solve the security problems of file transfer in the self-organized network,we combine the CL-PKC-SSL protocol with FTP protocol.We develop an FTP server and an FTP client based on the CL-PKC-SSL protocol to make a test.The result shows that the CL-PKC-SSL protocol does work in FTP protocol.At the end of the paper,we give a summary and prospect for a future in this project.
