The Study And Implementation Of VPN Based On SSL

Internet users increase suddenly with the development of communication and computer networking technology, so many new network services, such as E-commerce and internet banking, which are adopted by more and more people. With the increase of requirement, people hope to utilize public network resource to build VPN(Vitual Private Network ). Besides, owing to the requirement of new technologys, the research has very practical value for people.Traditional network for quality insurance and security mechanism isn't enough perfect, otherwise, because of other reasons,such as enlargement of network scopes and hacker attack, The security of network becames more and more important. The question also exits for VPN, and which requirement is much higher than traditional network. Combining E-Government project in my company , the paper pays attention to the design of gateway function of VPN based on SSL(Security socket layer). Content of the paper have six parts ,as follows:Firstly, it introduces the research and development of VPN.Secondly, it introduces some technologys about VPN ,such as tunnel technology, encryption technology, abstracting algorithm.Thirdly, it introduces the analyse of SSL protocol and research of security.Fourthly, it briefly analyses security of Linux.Fifthly, it pays attention to the structure of VPN and security improvement.Sixthly, it tests the performance of VPN server and deeply research the result ,meanwhile,solve some questions for improving its performance.
