Development of cloud computing which not only contains a variety of cloud computing services, but also contains reliable and efficient hardware & software platform-cloud platform supporting for these services has brought a new service model for user. Cloud platform improves the utilization and effectiveness of resources through transforming physical resources into virtual resources. The safety and reliability of cloud platform have become the focus of attention when people choose the cloud platform due to its widely application. Therefore, foundational capabilities testing for cloud platform is conducted to reflect the objective circumstances of foundational capabilities of the cloud platform so that it can provide data support as a guide to improve the relevant cloud platforms and to further promote the reliable, efficient and stable operations of the cloud platforms.An evaluation model of foundational capabilities for clo ud platform was established and evaluation system of foundational capabilities for cloud platform was designed and implemented through the study of foundational capabilities testing for cloud platform in this paper. Taking i VCE cloud platform as the testing target, the testing of virtualization capability, resource capacity capability and mission capability were conducted. In addition, virtualization capability, resource capability and mission capability were analyzed and evaluated using established evaluation model, in order to obtain a set of available testing and evaluation methods of foundational capabilities of the cloud platform.Firstly, key technologies of cloud platform were introduced in this paper, including cloud platforms, testing tool of cloud platform, analytic hierarchy process(AHP) and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method used when establishing the evaluation model of cloud platforms.Secondly, the evaluation system of foundational capabilities for cloud platform was designed and implemented. According to the requirement analysis, the system is divided into four modules, including virtualization capability evaluation, resource capability evaluation, mission capability evaluation, the front-end interface and communication. Virtual machine and its performance loss, virtual resource allocation and virtual machine stability were tested in the virtualization capabilit y evaluation module. Virtualization capability was analyzed and evaluated by employing the virtualization capability evaluation model established based on fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method. Node management, node migration and resource management capability were tested in resource capability evaluation model. Resource capability was analyzed and evaluated using resource capabilit y evaluation model established on AHP. Task scheduling capability and task management capability were tested in the mission capability evaluation model. Mission capability was analyzed and evaluated using mission capability evaluation model established on AHP. The front-end interface and communication module provides a communication interface for Web interface and front-end and back-end.Finally, virtualization capability, resource capability and mission capability of i VCE cloud platform were tested and evaluated using by employing the the established evaluation system in this paper. The testing and evaluation results were analyzed so as to put forward a corresponding improvement suggestion.In summary, this paper has proposed a set of testing and evaluation methods for foundational capabilities of the cloud platform, and established the corresponding systems. The test results show that the system can implement the evaluation of virtualization capability, resource capability and mission capability for cloud platform, which has met the design goal of the system.
