With the development of computer and network technology, the approach to obtaining information and render form of contents are gradually changing. Multimedia information in the forms of video, audio and text has been ubiquitous, and the public's need of information is more and more enormous. Nowadays, LCD displays in public places provide people precise and instant multimedia information. The mode of transmission of this means make people's life more convenient, and it is more and more popular in this society. However, with the increase of number of LCD screens, types and amount of multimedia resource, the load of managing and maintaining of multimedia information was increasing, making the existing rear end management and control system be obsolete to the current trend of the market demand. To guarantee the accuracy and real-time demand of multimedia information publishing, to make it convenient to manage the multimedia information. The thesis focused on the research and design of a multimedia information distribute system.Multimedia information publication system takes multimedia resources as an object, users can edit and operate the multimedia resources at management terminals and show to the public in some form of organization at player client, to complete the release of information. Contents of this paper include the following aspects:(1) Analyzing the functional requirements, planing the workflow of this system and summarizing the objectives of system to be achieved. According to the analysis of functional requirements, design the organizational structure and software architecture of multimedia information distribution system, Using C/S and B/S mode combined strategy. According to different functions, the system is divided into management terminal and player client, respectively, design the corresponding function module of the two parts.(2) The paper studied the development technology of Web pages and Windows application, analyzed the way of realization and the range of application about the technique and chose the appropriate computer language and software development kit for the multi-media information publishing system. And the paper studied the implement method, management terminals and the socket connection and the interactive method of XML data transmission of clients for what the user see is what the user get on editing multi-media resources. With C# and ASP.NET, the paper implemented the program of the management terminal of the system. The management terminal is composed of six Web pages: the login page, navigation page, resource management page, programming page, play-editor page and management page of the terminal.(3) The paper has done the research of creating the Windows playing widget, and the generation method of playlist. The paper has realized the player program using the C# language and Windows Form widget. And the paper designed the multithreading workflow while combining the actual working requirements. The multithreading workflow contains the thread of management terminal, playlist and broadcast.The test results show that the interface of multimedia information publication system is concise and beautiful, it is easy to use and costless, the broadcast contents is clear fluid. Finally, the objectives and features of the system are fully realized, it can be generalized to practical applications.
