With the development of computer server industry, technology updates become increasingly frequent. Strong demand from all walks of life has created tremendous business opportunities to the storage system providers. Data capacity achieved from TB to PB, EB or even ZB level. The research work of this thesis is based on the background of the IBM Blue Hawk storage system project. Blue Hawk storage system is a high performance storage system which integrated double RAID adapter. It is a cost saving and fault tolerance mechanism of storage solution. However, Blue Hawk storage system is developed based on Linux platform and the Windows operating system is not supported. So the Windows server cannot use Blue Hawk storage system.In view of the above problems, this thesis is based on the subject of Blue Hawk storage system migrate to the Windows platform, introduces the storage architecture of Linux platform and Windows platform, analyzes the structure and modules of Blue Hawk storage system on Linux platform, obtained that Blue Hawk storage system moving to the Windows platform has the necessity. Then according to the key problems of Blue Hawk storage system migrate to the Windows platform, mainly in which drive mode of Blue Hawk storage system should use on the Windows platform, which kind of mode of controller Blue Hawk storage system should use and which kind of PCIe interrupt control mode Blue Hawk storage system should use, the last selection analyzed and implemented in detail the key modules. Thenverified stability, the reliability and performance of the system according to the function and performance test.The main work of this thesis is:(1) Use extrapolation RAID card to driver Blue Hawk storage system. Extrapolation RAID card method can provide enough flexibility to RAID solution and can make the configuration selection and function expansion of product more rich. Each storage adapter card has an associated device drivers which is known as the "miniport". The Miniport driver is independent of the operating system and the HBA(Host Bus Adapter). It is the specific operation port that driver provides processing equipment, and converts the incoming SCSI command to device specific command.(2) Blue Hawk storage system migrated to the Windows platform is using the dual controller Active-Active mode. When one controller fails, the other controller can direct the same service and will not cause data loss. Using dual controller Active-Active design scheme can both avoid single point failure and promote the performance and bandwidth.(3) Blue Hawk storage system migrated to the Windows platform is using the MSI(Message Signaled Interrupt) interrupt control method. MSI interrupt mechanism has the characteristics of high efficiency. For the MSI interrupt mechanism its efficiency is reflected in the interrupt source and interrupt request to the processor to submit at the same time. So that the processor in the execution of the interrupt service routine do not need to re confirm the interrupt source. Compared with the traditional INTx interrupt mechanism, it improves the efficiency of interrupt.
