With the rapid development of the container terminal transhipment business,more and more containers must be transported from one terminal to another. In the past, the transhipment must be completed in several steps and each instruction must be sent by manual in the terminals. Therefore, the trucks are facing with the problems of long working cycle, low utilization rate, high empty-loading ratio and inefficient manual operation. Moreover, the accuracy and timeliness of the information are difficult to be guaranteed.Based on the situation, it is urgent demand to establish a set of intelligentized information platform to provide information support for container operation. For the transhipment business in terminals, we need no more repetitive operation in the gate.Instead, we can use information platform to transport information, to process advanced technologies such as RFIDintelligence crossings and terminal GPS, and to build the advanced mathematical model of trucks unified scheduling., With these technical means and management modes, Intelligentized mutual drag operation of domestic / international transit containers can be realized in the internal channels of the docks, and thus the overall efficiency of container terminal operations can be improved.This thesis was written based on the transhipment business in Shanghai Port. The businessrequirements were analyzed and combined with Container TerminalOperating Worker. As a result,a new advanced system was designed and implemented.This thesis was divided into four parts. Firstly, the project background was introduced, and the problems of current transshipments was discussed which have to be solved as soon as possible. Secondly, each business requirements was analyzed and illustrated by flow charts, use case diagrams and so on. Thirdly, the database and architecture of the system was designed on the basis of the demand analysis. The overall effect diagram and the implementation of every part were included. Finally,the practical application of this system was briefly described. Which was proved to be rational and necessary by before-and-after comparisons. The outlooks for further optimization and improvement were also presented.The system has currently been put into formal operation in Shanghai Port Container Terminals. It can meet the requirements of container terminal business,resulting in the decrease of personal and operational costs on the transhipment business. It also reduces empty loading rate of trucks and improves the operational efficiency of the terminals.
