Design And Implementation Of Commercial Bank Network Management System Using Netcool Technique

Since the 21 st century, the economic globalization and financial integration development rapidly. The domestic banking industry combine with their own need, then spent a lot of money to build the IT infrastructure and some of the different information systems. The systems are based on computer network, and are able to support the bank development strategy. But now the bank IT system management is facing a huge challenge. Because of the increasing size of the information system, increasingly complex network structure and regulators have the high requirement to the business continuity. The original simple artificial management or decentralized computer-aided management has been unable to meet the demand of reality. The bank's IT department needs an integrated network management system to make the network management to be effective, reliable and highly automated. Through the network management system, the banking sector can manage the network system more efficient and scientific, thus to improve the efficiency of management, and reduce the production cost. Eventually improve the comprehensive competitiveness of banking industry.The thesis studies the design and implementation of Netcool-based network management system. Netcool is an enterprise class solution of IT system management which is proposed by IBM. It can provide an advanced, mature, intelligent, high integrity, autonomic computing ability and business oriented system management product. Through this platform software, customers can be unified and integrated manage the network system, the reliability and availability of network system can be enhanced, the network administrator can be provided a complete set of fault handling mechanism. The mechanism includes early detection, fault locating, fault alarm and fully exclude about the network system fault.In the thesis, the design of NMS(network management system)is divided into three parts. The first part is the basic information data collection of the network, it includes Syslog Probes, Trapped Probes, ISM monitors(SNMP/ICMP). The second part is the data processing layer. The basic information data will be send to this layer to processing by Object Server, at the same time the data will be sent through a variety of interfaces and gateway to other platform for integration. The third part is the present assessment layer.The data that have been processed will be send to this layer, then present by Webtop and Desktop. Meanwhile the reporting tool will do the historical data statistics. Bases on the demand of customer, the thesis analyses the management Scope requirements, the event processing requirements, the data interface requirements, the system UI requirements, the configuration tool requirements and the report forms requirements, finally establish the scope and objectives of the project. Then the thesis design the network management system, respectively set the design principle of each function module of the system, all of these are based on the requirements of project and Netcool. The thesis concrete implemented the UI, configuration tool, report form system and so on. Finally, through the analysis of this paper, we sum up and outlook the implementation of project based on Netcool. Finally, through the analysis of this thesis, I have summarized the project implementation of network management system based on Netcool.The following is the main work and characteristics of this thesis:(1) According to the characteristic of the commercial bank network system, and the demand of banking on the network management system, the thesis puts forward the network management system solution which is based on IBM Netcool. The core component of the solution is the IBM Netcool network management software, then it combines with TCP/IP services and Web services. The solution realizes the basic information collection, data processing, interface display, report statistics, and so on for the commercial bank network. It also improve the network management ability of IT operations staff and reduce the operational cost.(2) This thesis uses a specific commercial bank network integration projects, detailed designs for the demand of the network management system integration process. Such as the network management system software and hardware deployment environment analysis, network event processing rules design, auxiliary function of the configuration tool design, reporting structure design, etc.Via the thesis, the domestic banks IT operations staff and network management project staff could understanding the whole network management system integration process, it also has a certain guiding significance for daily operations of the system and other network management project implementation.
