While the development of IT technologyhas beenfaster and faster, huge amounts of data have been included into the Information Technology system of the enterprise. IT systems have to manage the data growing with an amazing rate. But also the dependence of the business operation to the data is increasing. More and more enterprises pay more and more attention to the data backup, which was thought the last method to make the data in business safely. The traditional technique of data backup will take a lot of media space. While deduplication technology is favored by lots of enterprises because of its benefits to reducing the storage space of backup data.The article analyses the existing backup technology and focuses on the deduplication technology. Based on this,wecarry out a deduplication system module,using the deduplication platform and secondary backup cache with a traditional architecture Tape library backup system to build a layered architecture backup system model.This research project focuses on finding out an effective way to take advantage of both benefits in traditional backup technique and deduplication. In practicewe analyze a backup system in a company's Business Operation Support System and improve it by using layered architecture. Finally We created aneffective backup system model, designed with layered architecture benefiting in all kinds ofbackup technologies.
