With the advent of the information age,projection display technology is more and more popular among people with its fast,intuitive way of transmitting information. Laser is being widely used in the projection display system with its high brightness,long working life and wide color gamut. Combined with the advantages of DLP projection,which makes the laser projection system based on DLP technology be more competitive in the projection market in the future.This paper focuses on the research of the laser projection system based on DLP technology. Firstly,this paper introduces the basic principle of DLP and the characteristic of laser projection,and determines the overall arrangement of the telecentric optical path for the laser projection system. Secondly,the power ratio based on RGB laser of outputting quasi white light is calculated. According to DMD chip size and laser diameter,this paper designs a laser beam expander and fly-eye lens arrays,and finishes the simulation with LightTools.Thirdly,the parameters of the imaging optical system are determined to match the DMD chip and the illumination optical system,then the system is designed with Zemax. The MTF,spot diagram,distortion and illumination are analyzed to evaluate the imaging optical system.The results show that the imaging quality meets the design requirements. Finally, the tolerance of the illumination optical system and the imaging optical system are discussed.Analysis shows that with relatively loose tolerances of tilt,decenter,thickness etc.,the whole system could still have a good imaging quality.
