In this paper, a non-contact measuring system for shape and position error of large rotating body is studied, especially for shape and position errors detection needs of machine tools, automobile, armored vehicles, tanks and so on.Based on the analysis of the error methods of measuring the shape and position error of the rotary body, the paper according to the characteristics of the workpiece and the definition of the measured parameters and the indicator, using the measurement is based on the principle of laser triangulation displacement detection technology, the angle of the grating moire technology, precision mechanical and hydraulic technology, electronics control technology, presents a overall design of a non-contact measuring system for shape and position errors of large rotating body. Using a semiconductor laser triangulation displacement sensor as a non-contact probe with incremental encoder implementation grating measuring the rotation angle of the workpiece, which together with the corresponding rotation and translation actuators, control systems and real-time data processing system, to achieve the non-contact and real-time online measurement of shape and position errors of roundness, cylindricity, runout, total runout. On the basis of mastering the principle of laser triangulation, we carried out optical design the transmit focusing system and receiving imaging system of the laser triangulation probe; mechanical design of the main structure of the system; and research and design the corresponding control system;Finally, according to the measurement principle and overall system, studied the experimentally and error analysis for the developed laser probe.
