Design And Implementation On Stream Playback And Control Of IPTV Set-top Box

The coverage of existing radio and television is wide, but it's difficult to meet user's individual requirements increasingly. With the enacting of triple-play policies in national“Eleventh Five-Year Plan”on telecommunications networks?radio networks?internet and the rapid development of the internet, operators will have their eyes focused on the broadband access technologies. IPTV, which based broadband network, with the advantages of its good interactivity ? diversity of services and using the existing television as terminals, has become the focus of the many operators' business.This article is based on the research and development of IPTV smart set top box(STB), focusing on the introduce of its core function —— design and implementation of streaming media player controlling. First, it describes the overall structure of IPTV set-top box's software, based on which give the overall structure of IPTV STB streaming media player. Besides, it describes the role of each modules and relationships be them briefly. Secondly, it conduct a brief introduction of JNI technology, analyze the function which the streaming media player must provide for browser. Based on this, design and implement various of interfaces using real-time streaming protocol, including start play, pause, fast forward, rewind, etc. In order to achieve the controlling of browser to player. Finally, in order to provide a better playback functionality, design and implement a caching mechanism of streaming media player. Combined double buffer and ring buffer, achieve the sort of data while receiving the data, and then analyze the sorted data. It involves removing the network packet header field, separating audio/video stream and then delivering to different decoder to decode and playback according to streaming type respectively.
