With the rapid development of wireless communication technology and sensor technology, the wireless sensor network(WSN) has been gradually applied to the field of entertainment, military and medical treatment. The body-centric wireless body area network(WBAN) is the branch of WSN and attracts more and more attention. Currently, the definition of WBAN and WSN has similarities in many respects, while the WBAN is the body-centric network, so the wireless transmission technology, energy consumption and channel model is need to do in-depth research.This paper firstly introduces the concept and research status, significance of wireless body area network, and then describes the physical layer, MAC layer, topology and security model of WBAN is proposed by IEEE. Based on the in-depth study of the 802.15.6 IEEE standard, the design scheme of WBAN NB system is proposed. And from a theoretical point of view, this paper carry out a detailed analysis and research on the meaning and principles of each functional module in the whole WBAN NB system transmitter and receiver, including BCH(63, 51) channel coding and decoding, interleaver and deinterleavering, scrambler and descrambling.Based on the WBAN NB system transmitter and receiver solution, this paper proposed the design and implementation process of the WBAN embedded NB system on FPGA. With the SOPC Builder of the QUARTUS II 8.0 generating NIOS 2 CPU and using Verilog write the program for each functional module, the system control program is written with C in the NIOS2 IDE 8.0, the RF circuit board is designed with the ADF7023 chip. Finally, the WBAN embedded NB system is tested with Altera Cyclone III series EP3C120F780C7 development board and RF circuit board for board level. After analyzing the test results of this system, the design scheme of the WBAN NB system based on FPGA is reasonable and satisfy the system design requirement.
