With the continuous development of the paperless office and the electronic terminal equipment, electronic office has gradually walked into all fields of life. With the born and maturity of IETM(Interactive Electronic Technical Manual) technology, its application has gradually extended to all fields other than in the military field. IETM technology integrating computer multimedia, database and network technology, will display complicated technical manual on the electronic screen. In the form of interaction, the maintenance technician or system operator could consult the information they need accurately. And this can speed up the implementation of equipment use and support activities. It also makes the development constantly move forward in the field of civil aviation.Illustrated Parts catalogue(IPC) in civil aviation maintenance technology occupied a very important space in the manual. It will spare parts number and other relevant information corresponding to the parts diagram. It is convenient for maintenance personnel to locate the parts or reverse to find relevant information. So the IPC for IETM system is an indispensable part of civil aviation field.Based on S1000 D specification, this paper analyzes the IPC data module and establishes full structure IPC data module in the civil aviation system. And on this basis, paper uses XML(Extensible Markup Language) to release the sample data module. For parts diagram, paper selects VRML(Virtual Reality Modeling Language), a general file exchange format of 3D graphics and the multimedia technology, as the form of display. Using 3D graphics model instead of 2D image used in the traditional paper books and electronic manual as part diagram is much more convenient than before. The VRML itself has good interactive function, and after perfect the function of 3D graphics according to the actual demand, the parts graphics are more intuitively stereo displayed in front of the manual use of personnel. Through the SDK documentation provided by the Cortona company and the interpretation and application of the API of VRML files and web page files, paper realizes the interactive function between the parts catalog table, 3D model and users, which more greatly facilitate the bidirectional search for the manual users. Paper uses independent writing XSLT file to convert data module writing in XML, and has carried on the design for the publish style and writing. Document is finally published in HTML web page form. By installing Cortona viewer plug-in, the document can be realized in the use of multiple browsers.Paper research results modeled the preparation and release of the IPC module, contribute to the development of civil aviation system IETM, improve the efficiency of civil aviation maintenance support.
