As the first Antarctic expedition supporting device is put into operation in the Antarctic successfully, the research in the Antarctic expedition support platform has achieved a greate breakthrough. In order to meet the demand of new performance and function, we should do some further improvement based on the first supporting device. For these reasons, this paper will improve the system based on the hardware and software framework of the original system, including improving the performance of load balancing system, adding video monitoring system and image processing system.Firstly, this paper shows the total program and design of the upper computer system of the supporting device, and divides the system into three modules:Dual Redundancy and Load Balance System, Video Monitor and Storage System and Image Process System.Secondly, this paper does a depth analysis for different modules, and gives the specific design and technical realization for each module. Including improving the Redundancy and Load Balance System, deployment of hardware and realization of software of Video Monitor System, and design and realization of Image Process System which applies difference algorithm to reduce the network communication flows.Finally, this paper tests each of the modules of upper computer system, and analysis the test results. The results indicate that the improvement and design of upper computer system meet the demand suggested before, and the system has the high stability and reliability. The whole system can normal running stability.
