With the rapid development of the network, the information increases geometrically. Thepressure on the Server is more and more large. It should not only to bear the high concurrentrequest information, but also calls for the365*7*24operations uninterruptedly. To meetthese needs, a simple hardware upgrade is not enough. To resolve this problem, loadbalancing technology came into being. Load balancing is built on the existing networkstructure. It provides an inexpensive, effective and transparent method. We can use it toexpand the bandwidth of the servers and network devices, strengthen the network dataprocessing capability, increase throughput, Increase network flexibility and availability.The node servers of traditional static load balancing mode are stateless. When chose theload balancing strategies and algorithms, it isn’t need to pay special attention to the specificload of each node server. However, in this topic as each node servers are state, the systemneed to basis the specific load conditions of node server and do targeted load distribution toachieve load balancing.This paper describes the principle, classification, strategies and algorithms of loadbalancing and analysis the advantages and disadvantages of the various algorithms. I basis tothe needs of the project, put forward my own implementation. This topic is by open sourcesoftware plus independent research and development. It analysis from the load balancingprinciple and build a software framework. By Heartbeat software I set up a hot standby masterhost to achieve high availability and avoid single points of failure. By Nagios and relatedsoftware, write a plug to check node server health and provide data for the load distribution. Iwrite merit-based algorithm to achieve load balancing on the macroscopic time.
