As the growing demand of large wind turbines, as well as the continuous development of offshore wind, the direct-drive permanent magnet wind turbine received more attention because of its high reliability and efficiency. At the same time, the LabVIEW software is widely used in the simulation of wind turbines because of its high instantaneity and high accuracy. Using the LabVIEW software, this article has realized the real-time simulation of direct-drive permanent magnet wind turbine system based on the project named wind turbines semi physical simulation platform.Based on the project, the article first has a deep research on the mathematical model and the control strategy of wind machine, permanent magnet generator as well as the double PWM converter. Then it realize the independence simulation of the above three parts using LabVIEW software. The article also realize the simulation of the whole alignment through the further study of the link and the logic structure of all these parts. Finally, a direct-drive permanent magnet wind turbine simulation platform has been established based on the LabVIEW software. At the same time, to make the platform model more completely, the article has established the mathematical model of the network side converter which have a chopper circuit with it. Also, the article realize the converter model simulation when the grid voltage dips using LabVIEW. At last, the article has a detailed analysis on the simulation results under a variety of running condition base on the direct-drive permanent magnet wind turbine simulation platform, through the results, it finally verify the rationality and validity of simulation platform.To improve the operation rate, the whole simulation program has been downloaded to PXI, and the data can be transferred from PXI to PC using UDP communication. According to the process, an intuitive display interface is needed on PC, so the article has developed a smart PC monitoring interface for the direct-drive permanent magnet wind turbine simulation platform. It contains multiple control switches, and not only it can display the overall running parameters but also it can realize the optional of one or several parameters displayed on the view. What's more, the article also develops the function of storage and read, which make the simulation platform more multifunctional.
