Research On Impact Assessment And Network Structure Of Chinese University Websites

With the help of the concept “internet+”,a growing number of social institutions shift their focus to the internet platform,university is no exception.University website as an important platform for academic exchange,on the one hand it plays an important role in the field of dissemination of information,knowledge sharing and social services,on the other hand as a promotional window to show the soft power and comprehensive competitiveness of universities.With the development of webometrics,analysis of university website links gradually become a hot topic.In this paper,the author take Chinese university websites as research object,choosing comprehensive strength top 50 universities from “2015 China University Evalution”as research sample,using link analysis method from single website link indicators and website's chain indicators two research perspectives on the university websites for multiple perspectives analysis,in order to reveal the website quality of universities website and relationships characteristics of allover network structure.Depending on research point of view,this paper can be divided into two major parts,the one is research on impact assessment of Chinese university websites,the other one is research on network structure of Chinese university websites.The first part take single website link indicators as an research perspective,designing an impact assessment system of university websites by 8 link indicators,with the help of Google search engine to get the link data of university websites and carry on the standardized processing,then use principal component analysis and gray correlation analysis to analyze the link data,the results show that both conclusions are basically the same,Tsinghua university,Peking university and Nanjing university are located in the core position in the two research methods,but most of the comprehensive influence of university websites are still in low level,the level of websites construction need to be further improved,according to the relevant analytical conclusions,link indicators can be used as reference for the impact assessment of university websites.The second part take co-chain indicator between websites as an research perspective to show thecommunity characters and relationships of university network structure,with the help of Bing search engine to obtain the co-chain data of university websites,then use Jaccard index make data standard,results show that university websites can be divided into 6 categories group by geography in cluster analysis,disciplines and overall strength of scientific research,combined with the results of cluster analysis,university websites can be divided in 5 area in multidimensional scaling,in social network analysis,Jilin university,Huazhong university of science and technology,Beijing university of aeronautics and astronautics have highest frequency of co-chain,they have very important “power” and located in the core of the network structure.However,the density of overall network is only 0.6212,the level of resource sharing between university websites need to be improved.
