Recently the research on wireless networks technology is very hot in the field of Digital communication, it can meet people's requirement of building broadband wireless networks at anywhere and anytime. IEEE 802.11 has became a high-speed wireless LAN standards in the practical application of industry, and its related products have entered a wide range of commercial stage. With the updating of IEEE 802.11 standards, it will be more and more significant to do research on wireless LAN standards. As the demand for business cooperation projects, we shall process the signals according to the actual channel transmission. So appropriate hardware platform is needed to be built autonomously.IEEE 802.11 g standard is developed to solve the problem of the compatibility of IEEE 802.11 a and IEEE 802.11 b,so the physical layer standard of IEEE 802.11 g is compatible with IEEE 802.11a(OFDM) and IEEE 802.11b(CCK).In this paper, we do research on Wireless LAN baseband transmission technology on the platform of 2.4G IEEE 802.11 g which based on the physical layer standard of IEEE 802.11 a protocol. In the design of the base band algorithm, the OFDM system is designed which includes eight optional transmission rates, and transmission data with different rate correspond to different ways of coding, interleaving and modulating. MATLAB theoretical simulation and FPGA implementations are finished. In the design of hardware platform, the original RF circuit board is improved, and was re-layout to be compatible with Xilinx core board, and adapter circuit board is to be compatible with Zedboard. Finally the system test is done at the 2.4G transmission platform. This paper starts from the design of the whole IEEE 802.11 system, and in-depth research on the integrity and hardware platforms of the system is done, which have reference to other agreements of IEEE 802.11 series, meanwhile the research has practical value and economic benefits.
