Multi-sensor multi-target tracking technology has broad perspective of applications in military and civil industries, and study on multi-sensor multi-target tracking has attracted wide attention of researchers all over the world. Multi-sensor multi-target tracking technology can combine all the information collected by multi-sensor to increase the accuracy of target tracking, and it has better performance than the case using single sensor. The theory of tracking filtering, data association, track-association and track-fusion are the key points of multi-sensor multi-target tracking, and this paper focus on these three aspects.Filtering and prediction algorithms are the basic elements of the target tracking system. The paper presents a popular target tracking algorithm, Interacting Multiple Model (IMM). A new algorithm is presented in this paper by using Interacting Multiple Model algorithm in the field of multi-target tracking system, which is Interacting Multiple Model algorithm based on multi-target tracking. And simulation experiments are performed to compare and analyze their performance.Data association is the most important and difficult part of the multi-sensor multi-target tracking technology. Firstly in the paper, we do some researches in many methods of data association and do many experiments then evaluate their abilities based on the result of comparing their data. In the aspect of the multi-sensor track-association, the typical track-association algorithms, Weighted Track-association, Sequential Track-association and Track-association based on Wavelet Transformation are described. Then, the dissertation described several common track-fusion algorithms including centralized and distributed structure. Finally, the IMM, Joint Probabilistic Data Association algorithm and Adaptive Track Fusion algorithm are applied to the tracking system, and the simulation results validate the stability of the algorithms.Sensor management plays an important part in multi-sensor tracking. The basic concept, principle and importance of sensor management are summarized, and the methods are analyzed and synthesized.
