Improving the performance of radar target tracking is a research hot spot in the area of information fusion. There are good practical value and application prospects in military combat and defense, command and control, aerospace, navigation and so on. In order to Improve the performance of radar target tracking, this paper makes further study on two algorithms of the target tracking of two radars based on track associstion and track fusion and target tracking based on data fusion by radar cooperates with Infrared sensor through the "11th Five-Year Plan" national defense pre-research project. In this paper main research works and achievements show as follows:(1) This paper reviewed the basic theory of multi-sensor multi-target tracking, summarized the classic target tracking algorithm, data association algorithm and the basic theory of data fusion.(2) Considering that the Hough transformation is available to strong clutter background for a linear track environment, but the Hough transform usually requires multiple scans to start the track, and the large computational does not meet the engineering needs. In order to reduce the clutters logical method track the number of false start, while meeting the needs of engineering applications, this paper has improved it and proposes the track initiation of improved Hough transformation. It combines the advantages of the logical method and the Hough transformation. You can use the strobe speed for greatly reducing the number of Hough transform measurements, in order to reduce the computation.(3) In order to improve radar's tracking accuracy, this algorithm researches the basic principles of multi-sensor data fusion, the model of multi-sensor data fusion, and the process of distributed multi-sensor data fusion based on the thought of multi-sensor track association and track fusion tracking. Based on the traditional model, this paper proposes a kind of distributed tracking method of two radars which based on double threshold tracking and track fusion approach, combines with Monte Carlo simulations to validate the algorithm; On the base of this fusion model, this paper proposes another algorithm named pseudo measurement IMM track fusion to achieve the track fusion of maneuvering targets and applies it to a "11th Five-Year" National Defense Pre-research project was carried out in engineering. The tracking diagram of 120 targets which do patrol flight in target tracking region is given. (4) To be able to track the maneuvering targets in clutter stably and more accurately, this paper proposes a algorithm of target tracking based on data fusion by radar cooperates with Infrared sensor. It combines the high-precision infrared sensors'angle information with the high-precision distance information of the radar, based on radar tracking which uses IMM algorithm combined with MHT algorithm. With the high-precision measurement of the infrared information using the proposed a data fusion method based on heterogeneous sensor information into a more accurate measurement in, it will get a modified more accurate state estimation. The Monte Carlo simulations validate the algorithm.(5) In order to facilitate information fusion technology, practicality and convenience of the algorithm will be integrated into the design lab environment in VC + + 6.0 tracking the development of information fusion platform software, the system can easily set the environment parameters, give target data, call the specified method to process data and directly evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of the algorithm, and verify the effectiveness of the two algorithms through the simulation and communication with STAGE .
