As the pillar industry, steel industry plays an important role in economic development. However, in recent years, the price of steel dropped sharply and financial losses was common in steel industry. To survive in this economic recession, every steel company needs to find an energy saving way, besides the government policy, to keep its position in the market. To achieve the energy saving target, most domestic companies adapted CC-DHCR technique, and developed an integrated streamline with steelmaking-continuous casting-hot rolling. Since the steelmaking, continuous casting and hot rolling are all complicated processes, the control and dispatch are the key factors.In this article, we analyzed the 2150mm production line of ANSTEEL to understand the current situation of product scheduling in steel companies both at home and abroad. This system can be divided into three modules:product scheduling management, product planning management, and data collection management. Function partition interface of ERP system is analyzed through the analysis of the network structure of 2150mm production line. ORACLE 9i database provides data saving service; MQ is used as the middleware of data communication; VB.NET is adapted as development language and the window application program is based on C/S structure. This system analyzed the engineer’s experience and utilized the mechanism of knowledgebase and inference engine to computerize the experience of operators. Making the product plan, the system will generate commands for each furnace to visualize the logistic and location of dispatch plans. Product plans adapt dynamic reschedule algorithm to optimize and guide each process during production and reduce cost together with improving efficiency. Product data can be collected and online and even updated product orders, which facilitate the adjustment for staffs. We pay much attention to the customer visual and tried to get the windows clean and aesthetics together with direct and fast feedbacks.This system has been used in the MES system of 2150mm production line of ANSTEEL successfully and stably. The success of this system proved that it can improve the accuracy of dispatch, shorten the turnover time, and finally reduce cost and improve efficiency.
