The infrared decoy is one of the most widely used and effective equipment in the IRCM. With the development of infrared-guided technology, infrared decoy manufacturing technology makes progress. A variety of new infrared decoy are playing an important role in the modern air combat. The development of computer simulation technology provides a broad platform for the airborne infrared decoy simulation, an air to air IRCM simulation has two advantage:(1) It can be used as a platform in which the use of the infrared decoy in modern air combat can be tested.(2)It can also provide valid data source for the infrared-guided anti-jamming technology modules.A simulation of airborne infrared decoy in combat environment is realized, with the integration of the infrared radiation and movement characteristics of three typical IR decoy in the infrared countermeasures, combined with three-dimensional rendering technology, to establish an infrared simulation platform with aerial target acquisition model and ability to deploy infrared decoy.Firstly, the principle of infrared decoy flare is briefly introduced. A model of radiation is built for point-source and surface-source infrared decoy, respectively. And the movement model for typical decoy and new type of decoy which works at with-flying or towed status. Utilizing the billboard and particle systems, the motion states, and changes in shape, the radiation energy and other physical properties of decoy in the three-dimensional space is calculated in real-time.Secondly, according to the actual operational needs, the movement and the overload characteristics of airborne target is analyzed and realized, the model for the track, interception and other working principle of infrared seeker is studied.Finally, a sequence image of airborne infrared decoy, missile track is given, an assessment of the result indicate that the air to air IRCM simulation platform can be used effective in test of infrared decoy and infrared weapons.
