As robots being widely used in industrial production and human life, robot technology development and application has also been more and more attention. In order to make the robot application more simply, more convenient to operate, the visual interaction design of robot is particularly important. In this paper, we make the visual interaction design based on the indoor robot, under the Windows operating system with Visual Studio 2012 development environment. We use MFC and Open GL to build 2D visualization platform which displays the current robot position and angle information for the functions of robot simulation and monitoring in real time through image, graph and data.First of all, this paper briefly introduces the research background and significance of the visual interaction design of indoor robot and illustrates the main research contents and results.Secondly, the visual interaction preliminary design of the indoor robot is introduced. The demand of visual interaction design is analyzed. Visualization mainly completes the graphical programming simulation of the control program and monitoring the actual motion of the robot two big functions. In the simulation and monitoring work mode, visualization can create and save the block world working environment, build the management of the block library and robotic library, import the robot model, and control the robot by remote control, path planning, script editing three ways, and set the work mode, display information six functions. On the basis of the demand analysis, the overall design and visual interface design are proposed.Moreover, the visual interaction design of indoor robot is introduced in detail. Firstly, under the Windows operating system with Visual Studio 2012 development environment, using MFC and Open GL structures 2D visualization platform, the grid method is used to describe the block world environment and uses the XML file to save the block world environment. On this basis, this paper introduces the design method and the work flow of building the block world environment, the library management, the robot model import, and robot control, working mode, the information display.Finally, we test the function of visualization through the simulation of the control program and the monitoring of actual robot motion. The user acceptance indicates that the visual interaction design meet the requirements.
