With the rapid development of petrochemical enterprise integrated automation and computer information technology, information visualization and human interaction about multi-level operation of petrochemical enterprise using the virtual reality and visualization simulation technique have become more and more recognizable. The production process and operation mechanism of petrochemical enterprise are complicated, and it is important to make visualization of large of production data and process. With lots of scientific simulation calculation and virtual reality visualization simulation, we can reveal the law of production operation of petrochemical enterprise and make optimization decision with different index. However, the traditional data visualization mainly focuses on2D presentation method, so it is not very intuitive, and it also lacks of human interaction and credibility of user experience. On the basis of analysis of operation function of petrochemical enterprise, combining with system simulation and visualization, this paper has created a visualization integrated simulation platform for multi-level business requirements for the petrochemical enterprise, which can realize virtual reality simulation of total process, information visualization and human interaction. On this main line, the main research contents and innovative points are as followed:(1) On the basis of analysis of petrochemical enterprise, we put forward a total framework and design principle of virtual reality visualization platform of production process in petrochemical enterprise, which is universal and not for a specific simulation object. This framework can suit to any petrochemical enterprise. As there are some similar features of those petrochemical enterprise, such as many material are in the flow state and continuously operating. So it is feasible to describe and simulate all the production process with the visualization technique. We analyze the principle process of general petrochemical enterprise, design and develop process of integrated database platform, and also the requirements of multi-level integrated visualization simulation.(2) In order to realize the process of virtual reality visualization simulation of petrochemical enterprise, we innovatively put forward several principle technique methods about visualization. Combining with application case, we describe how to create virtual reality simulation environment of petrochemical enterprise and the design process of integrated simulation database platform. Then we interpret in detail those principle technique methods, including material tracking method of total process, texture mapping technique, visualization principle of3D particle system and method of monitoring about visualization instruments.(3) On the analysis of multi-level integrated visualization simulation, we design and develop a specific simulation platform. Based on the multi-level integrated simulation (PCS\MES\ERP), we put forward the method of how create this integrated visualization simulation platform. And we realize the integration between virtual reality visualization system and simulation system, which can make the real integration of model and data, and the consistency of human interactive interface of operation process.
