Triple play is the convergence of high level business applications of telecom network, broadcast television network and Internet which is the direction of the next generation network development. As a result, HINOC(HIgh performance Network Over Coax) has appeared under this background. Technology of HINOC is an independent research and development of our country based on coaxial cable to achieve high-speed broadband network access. It provides high-speed network services, without upgrading the original cable lines, which has a good application prospect. HINOC technology needs to achieve a set of network management mechanism for managing the HINOC network, improving the quality of network service and monitoring the running state of HINOC devices.In this paper, a network management mechanism for HINOC devices is designed and implemented. Firstly, the requirements of HINOC network management mechanism are analyzed and the functions of network management are defined according to the general functions of network management and the features of HINOC network. Then, several different network management implementation schemes are compared and the most suitable scheme is selected according to the features of the HINOC network. After that, the HINOC network management mechanism is implemented, which includes SNMP agent software, OAM module and the network management function of the driver layer interface of HINOC devices. Finally, according to the theory of software testing, the testing scheme of network management system is designed and the test environment is built, to verify the correctness of the interaction between the various modules. On this basis, the function and performance of HINOC network management mechanism are verified. In this paper, the network management mechanism can be used to detect the HINOC network topology, which can directly manage the HINOC Bridge(HB), HINOC Modem(HM) and provides management function of Qo S, flow classification and so on. In addition, the isomerization of the HINOC devices is well supported too. The work in this paper provides a feasible scheme for the effective management of HINOC network.
