With the development of the modern wireless communication systems and the need of communication quality, communication equipment should have more excellent performances. Dual-band dual-polarized antenna can effectively solve the problem of multipath fading and improve communication quality, at the same time, it is conducive to the realization of the antenna system miniaturization and reduces the cost of antennas. Therefore,dual-band dual-polarized antenna is widely used in communication systems. A dual-band dual-polarized ceiling-mounted omni-directional antenna for indoor distributed antenna system is proposed in this paper, and a dual-band dual-polarized base-station antenna is designed. The author's major contributions are outlined as follows:1. A dual-band(698-960MHz/1710-2690MHz) dual-polarized ceiling-mounted omni directional antenna for indoor distributed antenna system is presented. The dual-polarized antenna is a combination of a vertical polarized(VP) antenna and a horizontal polarized(HP) antenna. The VP antenna is an asymmetric biconical antenna and the HP antenna is composed of three printed dipoles circular array. The voltage standing-wave ratio is less than 1.8 and the radiation patterns possess good omni-directional feature in the working band. The polarization isolation is higher than 25 d B in the high(1710-2690MHz) and low band(698-960MHz). The proposed antenna can be widely used in 2G/3G/4G-LTE indoor distributed antenna systems. Antenna is tested and the results agree well with simulated ones, proving the design concept.The antenna can be used in indoor distributed antenna systems such as 2G/3G/4G-LTE.2. A dual-band dual-polarized base-station antenna is designed and simulated. First, a higher band(1710-2690MHz) and a lower band(790-960MHz) radiation units are designed. Second, with the design of reflector shape, the antenna's horizontal plane pattern radiation characteristics is improved. At last, the paper present a array analysis model based on the embedded element pattern. A scheme to deal with the design of dual-band based-station antenna is addressed. The DE algorithm is also used to shape the vertical radiation pattern of the dual-band base-station array antenna, and design targets, such as main beam tilt-downand shape in the service area as well as the sidelobe suppression in the interferencezone, have been achieved.
