The main aim of this paper is to propose Ku band dual-frequency and dual-polarization array antenna for satellite communication,then the design,model and simulation will be completed.The designed antenna can be verified to ensure receive and transmit signals normally.The rationality of the antennas will be analyzed using microstrip line theory and radiation mechanism.The design steps of the Ku band dual-frequency and dual-polarization microstrip antenna array are shown the followings.First,the related technologies that affect this antenna will be discussed,for instance,microstrip line radiation mechanism,dual-frequency technology,dual-polarization technology.Second,the model is built in HFSS15.0,which get the simulated results.The fabrication and measurement will be completed.Third,in order to obtain the size of the radiation patch while the best performances are shown,the radiation characteristics of the proposed antenna are analyzed,such as bandwidth,standing wave ratio,isolation and gain.The highlights of this paper are mainly reflected in two aspects:the first one is that the high-frequency microstrip antenna is used to match the low-frequency microstrip antenna to achieve the dual-frequency.The second one is that feeding model based on combination of parallel feeding and equal-amplitude inverting feeding is used to greatly improve the isolation of the two ports,reduce the cross-polarization level,ensure normal communication between the two ports,and achieve dual polarization.During the design process,first,the dual-frequency design is completed;then,the 2*2 dual-frequency and dual-polarization array is completed;finally,the 4*4 array is modeled in HFSS15.0,simulation and optimization are completed to verify that 4*4 antenna array is reasonable.Ensure that the measured results are basically consistent with the simulated ones.The proposed antenna array must meet the following conditions:receiving frequency(downlink frequency):12.25GHz?12.75GHz;transmitting frequency(uplink frequency):14GHz?14.5GHz;standing wave ratio:?1.5;cross polarization level(within the beam width):?-25dB.The simulation and measurement results show that the 4*4 dual-frequency and dual-polarization antenna array designed in this paper has achieved good performances in terms of bandwidth,polarization isolation and gain.At the end,the work of the research on the paper was summarized.In addition,the further hypotheses were put forward for the later research on the basis of the the scientific theory.
